The garden has been so kind to us every year. The kids love making their own Cobb salads in mason jars. We put out an assortment of vegetables and proteins for the family to choose from. The mason jars make a great “on the go” boat lunch or perfect for a picnic on the front lawn. These are also a favorite for school lunch boxes.
Ingredients:
4 – boneless, skinless chicken breast grilled and cooked through
8 strips crispy cooked bacon
1 head of romaine lettuce chopped
spinach leaves or other nutrient rich greens like kale
2 hard boiled eggs sliced
sliced carrots, avocado, red onion, cucumber, red and green pepper…
extra sharp shredded cheese
croutons
Assorted dressings
Directions:
There are no rules here! Create a buffet of delicious greens, vegetables, and proteins. Use mason jars, plates or salad bowls. Create your own salad! Enjoy!
Serves 4-5 people. Make more chicken, bacon and hardboiled eggs for a crowd.
